| Research activities I do applied intervention research to prevent and control chronic diseases, especially cancer, with a special focus on addressing disparities in health. I utilize community-based participatory research principles to plan, deliver and evaluate interventions in collaboration with individuals from worksites, universities, community colleges, beauty salons, barbershops, public libraries, and other settings. My interdisciplinary research teams work to design and develop innovative process and outcome evaluations by utilizing both quantitative and qualitative methodological approaches. I am a Member of the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, a fellow of the Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention, and a member of the Center for Urban and Regional Planning. |
