Welcome to the website for the Academic Programs Committee (APC), one of the committees within the Academic Affairs in the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The Academic Affairs is committed to making certain that public health courses at our School meet both the changing needs of health services as well as high standards of integrity and rigor.

To that end, the APC has been charged with the following:

• To ensure the highest quality of educational programs in the Gillings School of Global Public Health;
  
  
• To monitor the quality of teaching, learning experience, educational programs and their outcomes; and
  
  
• To assess and provide advice on proposals for new certificate and degree programs and other major changes to academic programs.

This committee is accountable to the dean of the School through the associate dean for Academic Affairs. Committee membership consists of the director of Graduate Studies from each of the seven departments and the Public Health Leadership Program. Meetings are conducted on a regular schedule throughout the academic year.
