Denver, Colorado - ARCADIS (NASDAQ: ARCAF, EURONEXT: ARCAD) is
pleased to announce that Jane Staveley was elected as president of the Society
of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry North America (SETAC North America or
SNA).
Staveley, principal environmental scientist and business practice manager with
ARCADIS, will serve as president of SNA North America from November 2006 to
November 2007. SETAC is a global, professional, not-for-profit organization
comprised of nearly 5,000 individuals from more than 70 countries in the fields
of environmental chemistry and toxicology, biology, ecology, atmospheric

mission is to support the development of principles and practices for
protection, enhancement and management of sustainable environmental quality and
ecosystem integrity. SETAC promotes the use of science in environmental policy
and decision-making and is founded on balanced representation from among academia,
business and government.
“I have worked with Jane over the past 20 years. Her
strengths as a leader are evidenced by her ability to get individuals to leave
their sectorial hats at the door and assemble and draw on their particular
strengths to achieve the goals of an activity associated with SNA,” said Chris
Ingersoll, SETAC North America’s immediate past-president.
With more than 25 years experience as an environmental consultant, Staveley
specializes in ecological risk assessment, ecotoxicity testing for pesticides
and industrial chemicals, approaches for water quality-based toxics control,
and the fate and effects of chemicals in aquatic ecosystems. Staveley holds a
bachelors degree in biology from William and Mary
College in Williamsburg,
Virginia, and a masters of science in public
health specializing in environmental chemistry and biology from the University of North Carolina
at Chapel Hill. Author of more than 30
