The first IMPACT Symposium: "New Paradigms in Clinical Trial Methodology" was held on Friday, November 17, 2011, at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel in Durham, NC. This event was the first symposium sponsored by the IMPACT (Innovative Methods Program for Advancing Clinical Trials) program, funded in part by grant P01 CA142538 from the National Cancer Institute.

 

This is a joint venture by Duke University, North Carolina State University, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The symposium involved presentations on research topics spanning the many issues being addressed in the P01 grant. Over 120 participants enjoyed hearing speakers from the three sponsoring universities, Columbia and Harvard Universities, the Food and Drug Administration, the National Institutes of Health and the pharmaceutical industry.
