State-of-the-art facility combines best technology with human touch ![]() New cancer hospital puts research into practice "This new hospital will be our clinical home, where we put research findings into realworld practice," says H. Shelton Earp, MD, director of the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. The new facility will create a healing atmosphere by providing natural light, indoor courtyards, gardens, public art and other amenities. The design was created with input from patients, families and health care providers. "We are combining the best technology with an environment that emphasizes the human touch," says Dr. Earp. PUBLIC INVITED to OPENING of NC CANCER HOSPITAL The official ribboncutting and opening celebration for the N.C. Cancer Hospital is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2009. An open house will be held Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009.
