Facility Cores

A major function of the CEHS is to support Facility Cores which have multiple users. These cores are designed to furnish groups of Center investigators with some technique, service, or instrumentation in a manner that will enhance the research in progress, consolidate manpower effort, and contribute to cost effectiveness by providing a service at less cost and possibly higher quality than if each investigator were to attempt it individually.

The Molecular Epidemiology Facility Core provides access to the high quality genotyping needed for large epidemiology studies.

The Biostatistics and Epidemiological Methods Facility Core provides consultation on statistical study design and analysis issues.

The Biomarkers Facility Core provides access to equipment (gas chromatograph and mass spectroscopy), assays and services, enabling investigators to introduce or better utilize biomarkers in their research.

The Nutrient Assessment Facility Core adapts and translates expertise in nutrient biomarker analysis and diet assessment for inclusion in environmental epidemiology studies.
