The UNC Center for Innovative Clinical Trials is unique

One of the unique strengths of the Center – and of UNC in general – is the ability to balance methodological and collaborative research in clinical trials by building highly interdisciplinary and integrated research teams that are capable of producing new statistical methods for clinical trials and putting these new methods into clinical and statistical practice. No other center for clinical trials has this focus or mission. For this reason, the Center has the potential of having a major global impact on research directions and practice in clinical trials. Another unique strength of the Center is its physical location. The Research Triangle Park (RTP) area in North Carolina is a major center of clinical trials activity in academic institutions, pharmaceutical companies and clinical research organizations. The location of the Center enables it to uniquely serve the growing clinical trials research needs of the academic and industrial community.
