UNC School of Public Health

The UNC NORC has assembled a diverse group of over 130 investigators from 36 departments and five schools on campus in the deployment of novel nutrition and obesity methodologies in human research. These members are organized around 6 central themes:

The Causes and Prevention of Obesity
Metabolic Responses and Requirements for Nutrients
Pregnancy, Child Growth and Development
Nutritional Interventions and Nutrition Behaviors
Nutrition and Chronic Diseases in Populations
Clinical Nutrition e

Requirements of Membership

To become a member of the NORC research base, your current funding or research must have a nutrition and/or obesity component. The committee also welcomes investigators who are including a nutrition and/or obesity component to their research for the first time.

As a member of our research base, we also ask that you cite the grant in all publications resulting from services provided by the NORC. Our productivity and effectiveness as a Center is measured in part by the citation of the grant in published work. Please use the following acknowledgement in your publications:
