The administrative offices of the UNC Nutrition Obesity Research Center are located in Michael Hooker Research Center in the Gillings School of Global Public Health. Driving directions to the Center, along with appropriate
contact information, are located below this map. If you are planning a

Driving Directions from
I-40 West
- Travel I-40 W from Raleigh-Durham Airport or Research Triangle Park
to Chapel Hill.
- Take exit 273A to 54 W toward Chapel Hill. Highway 54 becomes
Raleigh Road; continue on Raleigh Road onto the UNC-Chapel Hill campus.
At the intersection of Raleigh Road and Country Club Road, Raleigh Road
becomes South Road. Continue straight through the middle of campus; the
road name will change again to McCauley Street.
- Turn left onto Pittsboro Street.
- Follow the left curve in the road and cross straight through the
Columbia street intersection onto Manning Drive.
- Follow the signs to the Dogwood Parking Deck, two blocks on your
right.
Driving Directions from
I-40 East
- Travel I-40 E from Greensboro, Burlington or Hillsborough toward
Chapel Hill.
- Take exit 266, and go right at the fork to merge onto Highway NC-86.
- Go about 4 miles, then turn right onto Cameron Avenue.
- Take the next left onto Pittsboro Street.
- Follow the left curve in the road and cross straight through the
Columbia street intersection onto Manning Drive.
- Follow the signs to the Dogwood Parking Deck, two blocks on your
right.
Driving Directions from
I-85 South
- From I-85 S in Durham, stay left to take exit 174B onto 15-501 South
toward Chapel Hill. You will cross over I-40 as you enter Chapel Hill,
and will be on 15-501 for a total of approximately 15 minutes.
- Turn right onto Manning Drive and follow it through south campus.
- As you near the UNC Hospitals complex on your right, look for signs
to the visitor parking in the Dogwood Parking Deck.
- Take a left on either East Drive or West Drive to get to the parking
entrance.
Walking Directions from the Dogwood Parking Deck to the School
- Exit the Dogwood Deck onto Manning Drive.
- Turn left to walk down Manning Drive.
- Walk to the intersection of Manning Drive and Columbia Street.
- Cross Columbia Street.
- Immediately turn right and cross what is now Pittsboro St. (Manning
becomes Pittsboro at that intersection).
- Follow the inclined sidewalk up Columbia Street to the front
entrance of the Michael Hooker Research Center on your left.
- The administrative offices are located on the second floor of the Michael Hooker Research Center.
