Research Focus

The Reproductive Program's research focus is notably diverse, with some overlap among primary faculty in certain areas. In terms of reproductive and perinatal "outcomes", research has included:

  • infertility,
  • miscarriage,
  • pregnancy complications,
  • birthweight,
  • preterm delivery,
  • birth defects,
  • childhood cancer, and
  • child development.

"Exposures" of interest include:

  • environmental and occupational exposures,
  • infectious agents,
  • nutrition, and
  • psychosocial stress.

Other specific areas of interest involve

  • the role of genetic factors,
  • development of epidemiologic and statistical methods, and
  • male-mediated reproductive and developmental toxicity.
