Distance MPH in Occupational Health Nursing Print

As part of the Public Health Leadership Program, this Master of Public Health degree program with concentration in Occupational Health Nursing is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission, Inc.(NLNAC), 61 Broadway--33rd Floor, New York, NY 10006; 800-669-1656, ext. 153.

The curriculum of study includes:
  • School of Public Health core courses: Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health Policy and Management, Health Behavior and Health Education, Environmental Science
  • Occupational Health Sciences: Industrial Hygiene, Toxicology, Occupational Safety/Ergonomics, and Interdisciplinary Approaches to Occupational Health
  • Occupational Health Nursing courses
  • Practicum
  • Master's Paper

The structure of the program is as follows:

  • The program of study will be divided between internet-based learning, independent study, and on-campus study for 2 summer sessions, 1 week each;
  • Graduation requires a minimum of 42 credits;
  • Students who are enrolled in or who have graduated from the Certificate in Core Public Health Concepts Program are allowed to transfer up to 17 credit hours, pending approval of the program, obtained in the Certificate Program towards a Master's degree in Public Health.   • The program can be completed in approximately 2-2½ years, but you will have five years from admission to complete the program of study.
