The University has an active program in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (BCB) for Ph.D. students, and for which Biostatistics is a participating department. Students taking part must complete additional requirements beyond the Biostatistics Ph.D., and upon graduation receive a certificate in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology. Prospective students interested taking part and applying for BCB funding are urged to complete the application process detailed at http://bioinfo.unc.edu.
