Research Interests
Dr. Smith's interests have mainly to do with how to translate research-validated practices into standard service delivery practice, at scale.  Dr. Smith is also interested in identifying and validating promising practices.  He finds innovative evaluation interesting as well as projects related to diffusion of innovation.  As for content, his current focus is on contraception/family planning, although he does have a broader sexual health orientation that could include HIV/AIDS and Maternal Health.  He's primarily interested in research applicable to international contexts.
