“Having worked with health directors and public health staff around the state through the NC Public Health Incubator Collaboratives,” Rowe said, “Heather has a great understanding of the challenges and the opportunities facing public health in North Carolina.” Gates received her BS in Biomedical Science from University
of South Alabama and her MPH
from UNC.

Carolina School of Public Health graduate and NCIPH program coordinator Heather Keith
Gates has been named executive director of the state's Big Three public health
membership groups--the NC Public Health Association, the NC Association of
Local Health Directors, and the NC Alliance of Public Health Agencies. She
assumes her post in Raleigh
November 1, replacing retiring Executive Director Deborah Rowe.
