Founded in 1943 as the first of its kind in the nation, the Department provides national and international leadership to the field. We aim to understand the social and behavioral determinants of health problems through our work in health communication, interpersonal and social processes, and community engagement.

To get a sense of the Department's unique culture, you can browse recent news, faculty profiles, the alumni newsletter, or our most recent edition of "What's Up with the Master's Program."
