About the Clinical Nutrition Research Center

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Clincal Nutrition Research Center, funded by the National Institutes of Health, helps scientists discover the roles of nutrition in health. The Center (CNRC), housed in the Schools of Public Health and Medicine, works to combine basic nutrition research, human clinical trials, community-based   interventions, and studies of populations in an effort to answer questions on how the food we eat affects ourbodies. The services offered by the CNRC makes it possible for investigators, inside and outside of the discipline of nutrition, to apply cutting-edge nutrition methods in their research. This multi-disciplinary approach helps to advance our understanding of obesity, heart disease, cancer and other major societal health problems that are impacted by human nutrition.   The goals of our Center are to: · Support and enhance the conduct of human nutrition research · Enhance cross-disciplinary collaboration in nutrition research  · Increase the research base in nutrition sciences at UNC (funding and number of   investigators) · Develop and assist young investigators entering nutrition related research · Translate findings from nutrition research to the general public in order to improve    their overall health and well-being   The UNC Clinical Nutrition Research Center supports five research cores:   · Core A – Administrative and Biostatistics   · Core B – Nutrition Epidemiology · Core C – Molecular Biology and Nutritional Biochemistry · Core D – Nutrition Behavior Intervention (CHAI) · Core E – Animal Metabolism and Phenotyping   About the CNRC Internal and External Advisory Boards   Center Newsletters · May 2008 · February 2008 · September 2007   Contact Us: Steven H.
