How many students are accepted each year?
We accept up to 12 students per year.

Must I have a degree in public health in order to apply?
No. A degree in public health is not required.
Must I have some experience in healthcare in order to apply?
Yes. You must have at least several years of experience in the health field, some of which must be in a management or leadership position.
Where are the classes taught?
All of the classes are taught via distance learning one evening a week.

Are any visits to Chapel Hill required?
Yes. Students visit in August, January and May for 3-4 days each.
What kind of Internet connection must I have in order to participate?
You must have a high-speed DSL or cable connection. Dial-up connections do not work with our technology.
Is a dissertation required in the DrPH program?
Yes. Students begin planning their dissertation in the first year of their studies and spend most of the third year completing it.

It’s been 10 years since I last took the GRE or GMAT. Is that okay?
No. Your GRE or GMAT scores must have been recorded within the past five years.
