Dorothy Cilenti, former health director for Alamance and Chatham counties in North Carolina and deputy director of the NC Division of Public Health, has joined the North Carolina Institute for Public Health as deputy director for operations and management. Cilenti will also be a senior project officer affiliated with the North Carolina Public Health Academy and particularly its development of a health directors' school for the state.

"I am confident that Dorothy will be a strong addition to our team," said Ed Baker, NCIPH director. "In her roles either at the Division of Public Health or as a health director, Dorothy has distinguished herself throughout her career. She brings long-standing relationships and a reputation as a thoughtful and experienced leader in the state's public health community to her new role. I believe she will make a strong contribution to the work of the Institute

Cilenti earned her MSW and MPH in Maternal and Child Health as well as her DrPH in Health Policy and Health Administration from UNC.
