Certificate Program in Survey Methodology - The Odum Institute's Certificate Program in Survey Methodology is designed to provide students and working professionals with basic knowledge and skills for designing and conducting surveys and analyzing and reporting survey results.

Certificate in Aging - The Interdisciplinary Certificate in Aging is designed for graduate students enrolled at UNC-CH or elsewhere, professionals with graduate level credentials or the equivalent, and faculty members interested in expanding their involvement in aging. It is a campus-wide interdisciplinary program drawing on the University's rich set of resources to offer graduate students, community professionals, and faculty members gerontological knowledge essential for work in an aging society. The curriculum includes knowledge base and skills development, allowing participants to prepare for either clinical or scholarly work, or both.

Certificate in Community Preparedness and Disaster Management - The School of Public Health at UNC-Chapel Hill has developed a professional certificate program to provide community leaders in public health, health services, and emergency management with the opportunity to enhance their knowledge of management systems used to prepare for, and to respond to, natural and man-made disasters, including terrorism.

Certificate in Core Public Health Concepts

Certificate in Cultural Studies - The University Program in Cultural Studies administers a concentration certificate for both MA and doctoral students who wish to augment their field of study with interdisciplinary study in cultural theory and methods. The certificate program allows graduate students to achieve fluency in historical and contemporary critical cultural theories and relate these theories to a variety of individual research questions.

Certificate in Global Health
- The purpose of the Global Health Certificate Program is to prepare students to work in changing environments and with diverse populations, and to respond competently to the challenges presented by permeable geographic and cultural boundaries.

Certificate in Health Disparities
- A 10 credit hour program designed to enable students to acquire greater depth and specialized knowledge and skills to address health disparities among vulnerable populations in the U.S. Open to graduate and professional students enrolled at UNC and those seeking the certificate through the UNC Continuing Education Program.

Certificate in Health Outcomes and Quality of Care - The UNC Program on Health Outcomes (PHO)Certificate is available to all graduate and professional students, pending their acceptance into the certificate program, who wish to demonstrate academic training in health outcomes and quality of care. For general purposes, the PHO defines "health outcomes" as the end results of the provision of health services to patients and their families. Health outcomes include a broad range of phenomena, from morbidity and death, to health status and functional status, to patient satisfaction and health-related quality of life. "Quality of care" is defined as the degree to which health services for individuals and populations increased the likelihood of desired health outcomes and are consistent with current professional knowledge (IOM 1990: 21).

Certificate in International Development and Public Health

Graduate Certificate in International Peace and Conflict Resolution - The Graduate Certificate in International Peace and Conflict Resolution is available to UNC-Chapel Hill graduate students in all departments and schools who wish to acquire a specialization in issues of international peace and conflict resolution. The Certificate may be awarded at either the master's or doctoral level and is noted on the student's transcript.

Industrial Hygiene Technician Certificate Program
- The Industrial Hygiene Technician Certificate Program has been designed to prepare individuals for the Certified Occupational Health and Safety Technician (COHST) exam administered by the ABIH/BCSP. The nationally recognized ABIH/BCSP Joint Committee has approved the Industrial Hygiene Technician Certificate Program for a partial waiver of safety experience required prior to sitting for the examination.

Safety Technician Certificate Program
- The Safety Technician Certificate Program has been designed to prepare individuals for the Certified Occupational Health and Safety Technician (COHST) exam administered by the ABIH/BCSP.
