curriculum of core courses for the Bachelor of Science in Public Health (BSPH).

Junior Year – Spring Semester

EPID 600 - Principles of Epidemiology
Summer I
HPAA 301 - Field Training Experience (1 credit hour)
Summer II
HPAA 302 – Field Training Experience (1 credit hour)
Senior Year – Fall Semester
HPAA 351 - Policy Issues in Health Services Delivery
HPAA 310 - Introduction to Law and Ethics in Health Administration
HPAA 330 - Introduction to Health Organization Leadership, Management, and Behavior
ENVR 600 - Environmental Health
Senior Year – Spring Semester
HPAA 320 - Introduction to Strategic Planning and Marketing
NOTE:
While the HPAA courses should be taken in the
semester indicated above, the SPH courses (BIOS, EPID, ENVR) may be taken in
any sequence.
Graduation Requirements
BPSH Requirements
In addition to the core HPAA and
SPH courses listed above, students must complete the following:

6 credit hours of HPAA electives*

- 7 credit hours of non-SPH electives
NOTE: It is
recommended that students not enroll in HPAA electives during their first
semester of the program.
*Please note
that HPAA 564 and HPAA 600 will not satisfy the HPAA elective requirement.
General Requirements

Minimum hours required (not counting required physical education): 120

- Credit hours not to exceed 165

- Junior-Senior distribution of approximately 60 semester hours

- Local residence for the last 30 hours of degree credit
Field Training
(Internship)
A 12-week full-time internship in a health-related setting is required. For
this purpose, students register for a total of 2 units of credits (HPAA 301 and
HPAA 302). A field training fee of $400 is also required. The internship is
completed during the summer between the junior and senior years.
