Habib Yakubu wins FLAS Fellowship

Habib Yakubu

UNC's Center for Global Initiatives Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) announced Habib Yakubu (MSPH candidate, Whittington Advisor) as a recipient of a 2009-2010 academic year FLAS fellowship to study Arabic and relevant area studies courses. This award will pay full tuition and fees, including health insurance, plus a living stipend of approximately $15,000 for the 2009-2010 academic year.

FLAS fellowships fund the study of Less Commonly Taught Languages and area studies coursework. For more information, please visit their website, cgi.unc.edu/funding/flas.html.
