Admission requirements
- Bachelor's degree from US accredited institution (or foreign equivalent) based upon four year curriculum.
- Unofficial transcripts reflecting all completed academic work.
- GRE score, taken within five years of application.
- Three letters of recommendation (at least two from academic references).
- Statement of purpose explaining research interests, educational and professional objectives (1-2 pages).
- For international applicants, TOEFL and completed financial certificate document.
- The MSEE degree is restricted to students who have completed an undergraduate curriculum in engineering from an ABET-accredited program or from a foreign institution with an equivalent program.
Applicants to ESE will be asked to specify research interests based on our interdisciplinary program areas as well as a specific degree objective.
Application deadlines
- ESE Fall Deadline
- To maximize opportunities for funding, please submit a complete application by December 13. Although the Graduate School will accept applications for Environmental Sciences and Engineering until April 10, many decisions about financial support are made earlier.
- ESE Spring Deadline
- The Graduate School requires that all applications must be complete by October 15.
- Decisions
- Admission decisions occur on a rolling basis. Most fall decisions occur between January and March; however, some occur as late as May. All spring decisions are made by November 1.
