 UNC’s School of Public Health is considered by many organizations and individuals around the globe as one of the best of its kind in the world. U.S. News & World Report ranked the School as the top public school of Public Health in the country, tied with Harvard for #2 overall (in 2007). This gift will help the school focus its resources to have even more substantial impact on public health worldwide.
- The School will be named “Gillings School of Global Public Health.”
- UNC’s School of Public Health has one of the strongest public health schools anywhere in research dissemination — turning research discoveries into practice. This gift from Dr. and Mrs. Gillings will help the entire School focus on creating public health impact by solving big public health problems.
 This generous donation will provide our School with the resources to look for ways to combine the strengths of academic research institutions, innovative businesses, government agencies, non-governmental organizations and “think tanks” to find effective solutions to public health problems facing the state, nation and world.
