Discussion series | Global Health Certificate Discussion Series |
The Discussion Series is required of all students pursuing the Graduate Certificate in Global Health. The course meets in the evening for one and a half hours, 5 times a semester. Each session in the series will have a thematic frame that guides facilitated discussion. Themes will be recommended by students and by participating faculty. Formats might include: presentations, showing and discussion of a documentary, discussion of a news report, discussion of a book chapter or article, or, attending a special campus speaker's presentation or event. Requirements![]() Speaker from FHI talks with students. Students' commitment to earning a Graduate Certificate in Global Health requires attendance at three of five sessions during each semester registered unless excused by seminar faculty. No written assignments are required. If you are unable to attend an evening due to an emergency, please contact ogh@unc.edu or call 919-966-3564.
GradingAttendance will be taken. Students will earn a Pass or Fail, which will be dependent on their attendance at three of the five sessions selected. Fall 2011 (This course meets on selected Thursdays, 6:15-7:45pm)
Spring 2012 (This course meets on selected Thursdays, 5:30-7:00pm.)
