The Office of Global Health in partnership with the Public Health Leadership Program is developing an online Certificate in Global Health for working professionals. The online Certificate will be patterned after and build upon the highly successful residential Graduate Certificate in Global Health offered by the OGH and the highly successful distance certificates offered in the School of Public Health.

The online Global Health Certificate Program is tentatively planned to start in Fall 2010, with enrollment beginning sometime in late 2009. Please check back on this website for additional updates. Also sign up to receive our weekly newsletter, This Week in Global Health, where we will also post any updates about the online certificate.

Specific goals of the online Certificate in Global Health:

1. Expand the global focus of students and professionals in N.C. and the U.S. and specifically improve their skills to address global health issues.
2. Develop a collaborative learning approach to sharing the knowledge of global leaders and practitioners with certificate participants.
3. Share knowledge on the causes and solutions to global health issues to benefit the changing populations of N.C., the U.S., and worldwide.

The first course, Critical Issues in Global Health, will be available to current UNC SPH distance education students in fall 2008.

Tuition for the Certificate program will be the same UNC tuition rate for in-state and out-of-state students.
