| Dr. Labbok invited Keynote Speaker at the 2nd National Meeting of State Breastfeeding Coalitions |

Miriam Labbok, Professor and Director of the Center of IYCFC, was invited as a Keynote Speaker at the 2nd National Meeting of State Breastfeeding Coalitions, held near Washington, D.C. Co-sponsored by CDC, USDA, the Office of Women's Health and other government agencies. This gathering was hosted by the United States Breastfeeding Committee (USBC) and included APP, state representatives, WIC State Breastfeeding Coordinators, and the Coalition of States, US Territories, and Indian Territory Councils. Dr. Labbok presented the study, written with Emily Taylor recent MPH recipient from MCH, on Achieving Exclusive Breastfeeding in the US. This research was funded in part by the MCHB through an agreement with the USBC. In addition, the NC Breastfeeding Committee Poster, developed by Ms Taylor, was awarded the prize for the best poster presentation. |
