| Leaders from Chinese CDC visit UNC to explore possible collaborations |

![]() School leaders and the Shanghai delegation Members of the delegation, who work with the Shanghai Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Shanghai Municipal Health Bureau, were hosted by the UNC public health school's Office of Global Health. The delegation was led by Fan Wu, MD, director of the Shanghai CDC. ![]() Dean Harris, JD, left, and Dr. David Steffen were pleased at the prospect of working more closely with their Chinese colleagues. In addition to Wu, delegates from the Shanghai CDC included assistant director Xiaogang Feng; Dong Yuan, director of the Office of International Cooperation; Hao Pan, deputy director of the Department of Acute Infectious Disease Control and Prevention; and Shaoxu Ying, director of the Department of Science and Education. Also participating was Xin Chen, deputy director of the Shanghai Municipal Health Bureau's Division of Disease Control and Prevention and Maternal and Child Health.
