"We were particularly impressed by the Shanghai delegation's identification of the common need for improving local public health officials' management and leadership capacity in order to better protect and improve the public's health," said David Steffen, DrPH, clinical assistant professor in the School's Public Health Leadership Program. "There are opportunities for mutual exchange and learning on this topic through face-to-face dialogue and education, but even more so by distance learning. We look forward to exploring these opportunities."

 

In addition to Wu, delegates from the Shanghai CDC included assistant director Xiaogang Feng; Dong Yuan, director of the Office of International Cooperation; Hao Pan, deputy director of the Department of Acute Infectious Disease Control and Prevention; and Shaoxu Ying, director of the Department of Science and Education. Also participating was Xin Chen, deputy director of the Shanghai Municipal Health Bureau's Division of Disease Control and Prevention and Maternal and Child Health.
