Umble to receive Balderson leadership support award | Umble to receive Balderson leadership support award |

Leadership Development Network, is given to an individual who has worked
tirelessly for the promotion of training programs for public health leaders,
often in the background without public recognition. "Karl Umble
exemplifies this role through his diligent work to provide customer-focused,
user-friendly evaluations of NCIPH's executive education programs," said Mary
Davis, director of evaluation services at NCIPH. Umble's research has been published in public health's
notable journals including recent pieces in the American Journal of Public Health about the National Public Health
Leadership Institute and the Management
Academy for Public Health.
His chapter "Evaluation for Planning and Improving Leadership Development Programs"
was published in the Handbook of Leadership Development Evaluation (Jossey-Bass, 2006). He received his MPH from the University
of Alabama at Birmingham
and his Ph.D. in Adult Education from the University of Georgia.
