NCIPH's consulting programs help agencies and other public health groups with assessments, strategic planning, data collection and analysis.
Consulting ServicesConsulting Services provides a range of consulting services that rely on evidence-based scholarship and the identification and dissemination of best practices. Consulting Services is dedicated to building the capacity of our clients, not only by addressing their immediate needs, but also by introducing solutions that enable them to resolve future problems themselves. For example, client capacity is improved by easier access to high-quality information, integrating consulting services with instructional offerings, and enabling collaboration among separate organizations in the larger public health community. Consulting Services offers:
In addition to its experienced and capable staff, Consulting Services regularly draws on the time and expertise of the well-regarded faculty at the Carolina School of Public Health. It also relies on capable masters- and doctoral-level graduate students to conduct field work and assist in analyses. This faculty and student resource enables Consulting Services to provide state of the art expertise at competitive prices. For further information, contact Sheila Pfaender, assistant director

established to create and promote environments that make it safe and convenient
for people to be more physically active. The goal of Active Living by Design is
to encourage changes in design, transportation and policies to cultivate and
support active living, a way of life that integrates physical activity into
daily routines. NC Local Health Department AccreditationThe focus of local health department accreditation is on the
capacity of the local health department to perform at a prescribed, basic level
of quality the three core functions of assessment, assurance, and policy
development and the ten essential services as detailed in the National Public
Health Performance Standards Program. NCIPH is the administrator for the
program.
NC Public Health Incubator Collaboratives Enable a "critical mass" of resources and shared
activities that are often necessary to provide essential public health services
and are otherwise unavailable to many of the under-resourced local health
districts that are Incubator participants. The incubators have been established
as "voluntary, flexible partnerships" among selected local health
departments and an extended set of public health stakeholders. These
partnerships are intended to institutionalize opportunities for dialogue and
working together. |
