Health Education Principles Training

August 29-October 10, 2008

We are no longer accepting registrations for this course.

Overview and Audience

The Health Education Principles Training course is a seven week course designed for professionals who are currently working in health education without a formal degree in the field. The course will provide the health educator with a well rounded overview of the knowledge and skills necessary for effective public health education planning, implementation, and evaluation and a better understanding and appreciation for the complexity of the profession.

Although the course is not intended as a substitute for a formal degree in health education it can serve as an introductory course for those seeking a degree or for those who are degreed but would like to take the course as a refresher for continuing education. While the modules closely follow the requirements for the Certified Health Education Specialist Exam, this course is not a study course for the certification. However, completion of the modules may aid those working towards the certification process.

Faculty who are developing and teaching the course are professors and professionals in the field of health education from around the state.

Note: This course is a pilot course and therefore enrollment is limited to a maximum of 20 participants.
