Welcome to NCIPH, the service arm of the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health. Our mission is making a healthier North Carolina by improving public health practice, through four strategic priorities--workforce development, accreditation and quality improvement, public health preparedness, and healthy environments. The Institute serves as an educational and research resource for public health professionals and a strategic ally and collaborator with health organizations and agencies.

NCIPH is committed to serving the public health practice community by:

• Improving the knowledge, skills and abilities of the currently employed public health workforce
• Building capacity and improving quality of service delivery in public health agencies
• Enhancing the preparedness of the public health system
• Building community capacity to address health disparities through active living and healthy eating systems, policies, and environmental change strategies
