Public Health
Leadership Program offers the Public Health Leadership Certificate, the Master
of Public Health degree in three concentration areas and the Master of Science
degree in Public Health/Occupational Health Nursing. Applicants are expected to have three to five
years of health-related experience. For
more information about the Master's programs--distance or residential--refer to
our program guidelines.
The MPH is offered in three concentration areas:
- Leadership (which includes focus areas in Field Epidemiology, Global Public Health, Public Health Nursing, and Public Health Practice)
- Health Care and Prevention
- Occupational Health Nursing
The MPH
in all concentration areas is available in both distance and residential
formats, with the exception of Health Care and Prevention, which is offered
only on campus. In accordance with guidelines from the Council on Education
for Public Health, the Program requires a minimum of 42 credits for
completion.
Public health nurses who enroll in the public health leadership
program have
the unique opportunity to concentrate on issues of importance to public
health
nursing through coursework, the master's paper and field practicum.
The Occupational Health Nursing concentration and the Public Health
Nursing focus area are accredited by

The Master of Science (MS) degree is offered in Public Health Nursing fields of
study in Public Health Nursing and Occupational Health Nursing. The residential/on-campus program of study
prepares graduates in program planning and evaluation, with emphasis on the
development of research skills as beginning researchers. Two years of full-time study is required for
the MS student. Students have 5 years to
complete the program. Public Health

The Online Global Health Certificate
is an interdisciplinary, four-course, formal academic certificate for non-degree seeking students
that examines the complexities inherent in improving health on a global scale.

core content taught in PHLP's MPH programs.
All courses have been specially designed and developed for delivery via
distance learning. Students will be able
to register, receive materials, interact with faculty, order books and
successfully complete this program while only traveling to campus once. A connection to the Internet is all that is
required!

The Occupational Health Nursing Certificate is an academic program
of study. Students take 11- 12 credits
in coursework that has been specially developed for distance education. All credits earned are completely
transferable as part of the requirements for the completion of the OHN
Concentration MPH degree. Students will
be able to register, receive materials, interact with faculty, order books, and
successfully complete this program while only traveling to campus once. A connection to the Internet is all that is
required!
