Program exceeded all of my expectations." - Larry Michael Public Health Leadership Program offers the Public Health Leadership Certificate, the Master of Public Health degree in three concentration areas and the Master of Science degree in Public Health/Occupational Health Nursing. Master of Public Health (MPH)The MPH is offered in three concentration areas: Leadership (which includes focus areas in Field Epidemiology, Public Health Nursing, Public Health Practice, and Program Development); Health Care and Prevention; and Occupational Health Nursing. The MPH in all concentration areas is available in both distance and residential formats, with the exception of Health Care and Prevention, which is offered only on campus. In accordance with new guidelines from the Council on Education for Public Health, the Program requires a minimum of 42 credits for completion. Public health nurses who enroll in the public health leadership program have the unique opportunity to concentrate on issues of importance to public health nursing through coursework, the master's paper and field practicum. The Occupational Health Nursing concentration and the Public Health Nursing focus area are accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC), 61 Broadway--33rd Floor, New York, NY 10006; 800-669-1656, ext. 153.
Health Care and Prevention Occupational Health Nursing Masters Program Director, David Steffen, DrPH Master of Science (Residential)The Master of Science (MS) degree is offered in Public Health Nursing fields of study in Public Health Nursing and Occupational Health Nursing. The residential/on-campus program of study prepares graduates in program planning and evaluation, with emphasis on the development of research skills as beginning researchers. Two years of full-time study is required for the MS student. Students have 5 years to complete the program.
