Leadership Certificate: Registration Procedures Print

Registration

Please go to Student Central to register for classes each semester. The site is listed below. You must register for the required courses each semester. The courses are listed under the curriculum section of this site.

You will also find UNC's registrar web site a helpful resource on classes and registration schedules.

Tuition

Tuition payments need to be mailed separately to the cashier's
office.

UNC-Chapel Hill University Cashier
103 Bynum Hall, CB#1400
Chapel Hill, NC 27599

If you are mailing in your payment you need to write PUBH/PUBL/your PID number/ term you are registering for on the memo section of your check or money order. Checks need to be made payable to UNC-CH. Once payment is made you will be allowed to register for courses. Please make sure that you send in your tuition before you register for classes or you will not be able to process your registration. In order to be registered for classes, your tuition payment MUST be received in the cashier's office. The tuition rate * (in-state $288 per credit hour; out-of-state $576 per credit hour) is dependent upon your residency status as determined by University policies.

*Tuition rates are determined by the NC legislature and therefore subject to change without notice. Tuition and fee schedules can be viewed at http:cashiers.unc.edu/stufinfo.htm.

There is an additional registration fee of $32.00 per semester in addition to tuition fees for the fall and spring semesters and $1.21 per credit hour for the summer semester. This fee must be included in your total tuition submitted to the cashier office.

For credit card payments access the Student Central system, by logging on with your ONYEN and password (or PAC and PID) and selecting the "Pay Your Bill" option found under the Cashier Services menu. You will enter the amount owed according to your residence status and the number of credit hours you are enrolling in. You must also include the additional registration fee in your total that you enter in the system.

If you decide to make your payment with a credit card, a nonrefundable transaction fee will be added to your bill to cover the cost of providing credit card services. The transaction fee is currently 2% of the total charge and is subject to change if there is a change in the cost of providing the credit card service.

North Carolina Residency Forms

Once you have submitted a residency form for the program, you will not have to submit another one unless you do not take a course in the fall or spring semester, or your residency information changes.

If you have lived in the state of North Carolina for three years or longer by the first day of classes of the term for which you are applying, complete the Short Residency Form. If additional information is needed, we will notify you by mail.

If you have lived in the state of North Carolina fewer than five years by the first day of classes of the term for which you are applying, complete the Long Residency Form.

If you or your spouse are not US citizens, complete the Supplemental Form in addition to the Long Residency Form.

Order textbooks-Required

The textbooks required for each course can be found on the Certificate web site under the curriculum link.

You can order your textbooks from the Health Affairs Bookstore either by phone at (919) 966-2208 or online.

Of course, if you live close enough, you can come to campus to buy them. To order books online your ONYEN (User ID) will need to be active. The textbooks and course packs are usually not available to order online until the month that the course begins.

UNC Employees

Their phone number is 962-3071. Please make sure that you make a note beside the course you are taking that this is a Distance Learning course (PUBH/PUBL) so that the paperwork is correct for the cashier office. This is very important! Please have Benefits forward a copy to Chantal Donaghy, Campus Box 7469.
