Application Procedures

- UNC Graduate School Deadline - Submit materials by January 1 for full consideration of financial assistance by the Graduate School.
- PHLP Deadlines
- March 13 for Fall enrollment
- Oct. 11 for Spring enrollment (OHN ONLY)
- Terms For Which Applications Are Accepted - Applications are accepted for fall, spring, and summer terms, depending on the degree program.
- Financial Aid Information - Applications with all required materials received by January 1 will receive full consideration for Graduate School fellowships. Applications received after that date will be considered as funds remain available. For more information on financial aid, please refer to the Office of Scholarships and Student Aid . The School of Public Health and PHLP offer financial assistance, guidance and awards for financing your education as well.
Step 3: Review Admission Requirements
Step 4: Complete an application - To begin the application process, you will need to create a MyUNC account. You can easily create one here. After you have created an account, you can begin the application by logging into the Graduate School Online Application. A current email address is a required field on the application, since all correspondence is conducted by email.
Step 5: Review Special Instructions - Please contact Sue Robeson at 919-966-5305 if you have problems with the online application.
Step 6: Manage Your Application - You may track the progress of your application, verify the receipt of your application materials and view the Department's admissions decision ONLINE.
Admission Requirements
In addition to the general University admissions requirements, MPH program admissions requirements include:
- Submission of completed application materials by March 13
- Bachelor's degree Relevant work experience (minimum of 3 years-5 years preferred) Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Personal statement/Statement of professional goals
- Three letters of recommendation
- Official transcripts for all completed coursework and each degree received
- GRE or equivalent entrance exam scores taken within five years of application (may not be required for applicants with a doctoral degree)
- TOEFL and completed financial certificate for international applicants
Make sure you have completed your FAFSA to quality for additional financial aid.
For OHN program, you'll need to provide RN Licensure and Liability info form (include copy of insurance and copy of license).
