![]() Dr. Bonnie Rogers Rogers, a Certified Occupational Health Nurse--Specialist (COHN-S) and Legal Nurse Consultant Certified (LNCC), is director of the occupational health nursing concentration and the North Carolina Occupational Safety and Health Education and Research Center, both within the School's Department of Public Health Leadership.
The center, one of 17 in the country, trains occupational safety and health professionals to promote and protect worker health. It serves eight southeastern states: North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee and Kentucky.
The 15-member board of scientific counselors advises the NIOSH director about the institute's research and prevention program. Specifically, the board provides guidance on NIOSH research activities related to developing and evaluating hypotheses, systematically documenting findings and disseminating results.
Rogers' term continues through Dec. 31, 2013.
