I am very pleased to share with you our UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health 2007 - 2008 Office of Research Annual Report. As you will read in the pages of this document, our School has an extremely active research program which covers many topics, including our five areas of research excellence: Cancer; Environment and Water Quality; Global Health; Health Disparities; and Obesity. Consistent with our School's mission of improving public health, promoting individual well-being, and eliminating health disparities across North Carolina and around the world, our faculty, staff and students are engaged in groundbreaking research. The findings of this research inform our public health knowledge base and provide an empirical foundation from which to build and enhance public health practices and policies.
This report highlights only a few of the important public
health research projects conducted at our School. To learn more about our
faculty, staff, students and the research that they conduct, I invite you to visit
our website.
Wishing you happiness and health, ![]()
