is my pleasure to share with you our UNC Gillings School of Global Public
Health 2009 Office of Research Annual Report. This has been a busy and
productive year for our School's researchers. Public health advances have been
made many areas, including our School's five areas of research excellence:
Cancer; Environment and Water Quality; Global Health; Health Disparities; and
Obesity. These research findings will help our School to fulfill our mission of
improving public health, promoting individual well-being, and eliminating
health disparities across North Carolina and around the world.
This
report documents only some of the impressive projects being conducted at our
School. To learn more about our faculty, staff, students and the research that
