The Research Council is made up of faculty representatives from each department and is chaired by the Associate Dean for Research. The Council meets as needed and works via email to address issues brought forth by the Dean, Associate Dean and other faculty members that are important to advance the research program at the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health. Its mission is to enhance the research environment at the School.

Members are appointed by their department chair. Members of the Research Council represent the research interests of their home department and report back to their department chair and department colleagues about the research issues identified.
