| To our outstanding staff: a message from the dean |
![]() The UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health should be a great place and a great place to work-- a place where contributions made by staff, faculty and students can change the world. We should be a school that supports and nurtures you, one that celebrates diversity and inclusion, and one that helps you lead healthy, fulfilled lives. We recognize that you have lives beyond our walls, and all the joys and sorrows that come with life.
Without you, the School simply would not run. When I became dean, we reshaped "faculty" meetings to be "faculty and staff" meetings. Please let us know what you want on agendas for these meetings, and please attend.
We have significant challenges ahead to make a difference in the health of people in North Carolina and around the world, attract and support the best students, train tomorrow's leaders, manage our resources wisely and secure continued funding in an era of shrinking federal and state resources. We cannot do this without you.
I look forward to the day when, once again, we can begin to thank you not just with words, but with raises. Please feel free to email me any time. I'm here if you have issues or concerns. Please don't hesitate to tell me how we can do a better job of supporting you.
Thank you for all you do!
Warmly, Barbara |
