The UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health is comprised of more than 200 full-time faculty, 350 staff members and 1,700 students, all working together to fulfill the School's mission to improve public health, promote individual well-being, and eliminate health disparities across North Carolina and around the world. This commitment to service, scholarship and bridging the gap between academic research and practical public health solutions is at the heart of our ranking as the premier public school of public health in the nation.

Dean Barbara K. Rimer leads the School. Her office is responsible for supporting the academic, research and service activities of the School as well as managing relationships within the University and with other universities, both nationally and worldwide. Dean Rimer also writes a blog, Monday Morning, about recent events and issues facing the School.

Our faculty and staff members are recognized worldwide for their contributions to the research and practice of public health. You can use our advanced search tool to find them by name or research topic.

Our students give the School its primary sense of purpose - educating the public health leaders of tomorrow. In addition to taking classes, many of them provide public health services and conduct research in the field - in communities as close to the School as Chapel Hill and Carrboro and as distant as Vietnam and Malawi.

Still not sure where to look? Contact us and we will point you in the right direction.
