Tilson selected for APHA's Frost Award | Tilson selected for APHA's Frost Award |

![]() Hugh Tilson The award is named to honor the pioneering work of Wade Hampton Frost (1880-1938), founding professor and chair of the department of epidemiology at Johns Hopkins University. First bestowed in 1972, it recognizes an individual who, through the application of epidemiologic methods, has made a significant contribution to addressing a major public health issue. Tilson's work has been concentrated in the area of pharmacoepidemiology. In announcing this year's recipient, James A.
