Ivan Rusyn, MD, PhD, associate professor in the Department of Environmental Sciences and Engineering, has been selected to receive the Society of Toxicology's Achievement Award.

Rusyn received his doctorate at UNC in 2000 and worked as a postdoctoral fellow for a year before joining the faculty in 2002.

The Achievement Award is presented to a member of the Society of Toxicology who has fewer than 15 years’ experience subsequent to completion of the highest earned degree and who has made significant contributions to the field of toxicology.

This award, which includes a plaque and cash stipend, will be presented at the Society's 47th annual meeting on Sunday, March 16 in Seattle, Wash.
