![]() Dr. Peggye Dilworth-Anderson Dilworth-Anderson's talk, "The Importance of Mentoring Through the Pathways of Professional Development," addressed disparities for women and racial/ethnic minorities in science. "It was a delight to welcome Dr. Dilworth-Anderson, a leader in aging research, as [our] keynote speaker," said Dr. J. Taylor Harden, assistant to the director for special populations at NIA. "What we know is that at every stage in the career pipeline, there is a 10 percent to 15 percent attrition in the proportion of women to men. Dr. Dilworth-Anderson provided guidance on best practices and mentoring for new and early career scientists."
