AnnouncementsFulbright- Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad (DDRA) Fellowship
Deadline: Friday June 8, 2012
This U.S. Department of Education program is available to Ph.D. candidates who wish to engage in full-time dissertation research abroad in modern foreign languages and area studies for periods of six to twelve months. Projects focusing on Western Europe are not eligible for funding. The grant provides travel expenses, maintenance allowance for the grantee and his/her dependents, books and other research-related expenses and health insurance. Research projects in the fields of economics, engineering,
international development, global education, mathematics, political
science, public health, science, or technology receive competitive
priority.

Richard Selzer Prize: Abaton Medical Journal Submission Call
Deadline: July 1, 2012 Des Moines University's award-winning medical humanities and arts journal, Abaton, is accepting poetry, essays, art, and photography submissions for its sixth annual edition. Submissions must be sent by July 1, 2012, via the online submission form at http://www.dmu.edu/abaton/. Submission guidelines and past editions are also available on the website. The GREEN Program gives students the opportunity to travel to Costa Rica for 12 days and visit functioning renewable energy facilities as well as interact with industry professionals, managers and directors. In conjunction with the academic curriculum and community service projects, this experience can serve as an important stepping stone in the career of a motivated student. Additionally, the benefits of gaining a competitive international experience and cultural immersion prior to graduating can be the academic pinnacle of a lifetime.
