Costs and funding

Finding funding to pay for academic training can be a daunting task. SPH faculty and staff are committed to helping our students find funding opportunities.

Expected Costs

The university provides estimated costs of attendance to help undergraduate and graduate students anticipate expenses while attending UNC. Please note that these estimates do not reflect current Public Health tuition. Please visit the University Cashier's website for information on important dates, tuition, fees and student billing related policies.

Loans

How to apply for financial aid

To qualify for many University funding sources, all students (including distance education students) must apply for financial aid via the university's Office of Scholarships and Student Aid (OSSA).  Regardless of your financial need, it may be worthwhile to apply for financial aid to ensure that you are eligible for as many opportunities as possible.  Even merit-related aid distributed via OSSA requires you to submit a FAFSA form.  Be sure to check with your department for additional financial forms that may be required for specific aid sources.
