University services
Courses to help with adjustments
- EPID 689 (Resources for International Students) This SPH class introduces international students to American university life and the resources available on the UNC campus and around Chapel Hill. It is also a comfortable setting where students can ask questions about academic and non-academic issues related to their adjustment to life in Chapel Hill.
- Preparing International Teaching Assistants Program
This program, sponsored by the Graduate School, supports the training and development of international teaching assistants and scholars at UNC.
- GRAD 810: Communicating in the American Classroom. The course is open to all graduate and professional students and builds students' skills in language, cross-cultural communication and more. You may enroll prior to or at the beginning of your teaching assistantship.
