Meet Emeka Anen
BSPH student, Class of 2010

Emeka C. Anen is an incoming (rising junior) BSPH student in the department of Health Policy and Management (Administration).

Raised in Cary , NC, Emeka was first inspired to join the HPAA department during a freshman information session held in the School. During that same year he received the prestigious Alston M. Gardner Scholarship for the Southeast Asia Summer Program which allowed him to spend two months in Southeast Asia . There he researched health policies of Southeast Asian countries like Singapore (pictured to the right) , Malaysia , and Thailand , and compared them those of the United States .  Emeka is passionate about business and leadership and also intends to add medicine to his list of studies. While at the SPH, his research will focus on universal healthcare plans and other viable alternatives.

When he is not in class or volunteering with Communiversity or the Movement of Youth programs, you will find him in the Office of Student Affairs where he will be acting as their BSPH employee.
