Student feedback

The UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health's leadership teams want to know your ideas, thoughts, and suggestions about the school. Please give us feedback throughout the year via:

SPH Office of Student Affairs staff will forward your feedback to the appropriate faculty, staff, and students. You may also send feedback directly to Dr. Felicia Mebane, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs. Please send an email to fmebane@unc.edu with your input or to set up a meeting.

Assistant Dean Mebane will share summaries of your feedback with the student body via email and the SPH Student Government.

Don't miss these great opportunities to help the School provide you with the best possible SPH and UNC experience!

Student Input Hotlink

Inspired by the School's dedication to continuous quality improvement, the SPH Office of Student Affairs (OSA) has established the SPH Student Input Hotlink. Whether anonymously or with your name attached, we want your input....the good, the bad and everything in between.

Availability of the Hotlink

Any time, day or night, SPH students may sign in to enter their feedback about any aspect of the School.  See the weekly SPH OSA Student Event and Announcements email for the "password of the month".

Course evaluations

The new web-based Carolina Course Evaluation System (CES) allows for more efficient use of student feedback. Your participation in the course evaluation process provides valuable information for improving courses and evaluation of faculty members. Further, summary response data may be shared with students to assist with making future course selections. (Note: Your responses to these evaluations are confidential. No individual student responses will be reported.)

Availability of course evaluations

Course evaluations are available online during the last week of the semester. You will receive an email explaining how to access the system. (Note: Each course evaluation must be completed in one session.)

Student participation

Participation in course evaluations is a well-honored tradition at the SPH. Stay tuned for more information on this topic.

Responses to course evaluation feedback

Currently, course evaluation results are shared with each instructor and their department chairs. The SPH Student Government has been advocating for summary results to be made available to all students to help with course selections.

End-of-semester / exit survey

Twice each academic year, the SPH Office of Student Affairs asks students to complete a survey evaluating their SPH experiences, and, where appropriate, to provide information about job placement. A summary of these results will also be shared with the student body via the SPH Student Government.
